I've been having lots of stabby feelings in my lower abdomen, which my midwife says is my cervix effacing and a good sign, and tons of Braxton-Hicks, so labor can't be that far off. If I make it until Friday, we'll have a non-stress test to make sure this kiddo still has the reserves to go through labor. And then Tuesday (so hard to even think that far ahead!), we would have a full biophysical profile with ultrasound, where they check the level of amniotic fluid, how well the placenta is doing, etc. I've always just assumed I'd go into spontaneous labor, so I don't really like to think about the possibility of being induced, but that's still far enough in the future that's it not worth worrying about. We're so excited to meet this little guy and it's hard to wait, but we've got faith that he'll come out when he's ready. I actually thought it might have been last night since my fortune cookie at dinner read "There is a prospect of a thrilling time ahead for you." But this morning I'm still hugely pregnant...

With all this free time, I've been working my way through my Whole Grain Breads book by Peter Reinhart - a delicious pastime!

Hi Jes, so are you going to let us know when you leave for the birthing center???? Enjoy the bread. It looks yummy and not at all like my attempts at whole grain bread.
Love,
Alison
