the great wait marches on...
Are you tired of hearing about the great wait? Yes?! Me, too.
We had a series of appointments yesterday at the hospital where this baby will someday be born, and as it turns out, he is just doing too well on the inside. He got a perfect score on his biophysical profile (via ultrasound), and another non-stress test showed that his heart rate is still variable across the range they're looking for, so I was sent home again to keep waiting. My midwife also checked me for the first time, and I'm almost completely effaced, which is awesome since I'm told that for first-time moms you really need to efface before you can dilate. So it could be any day now - who knows, maybe even today!!
Even with good news about baby's health and my effacement, yesterday was kind of tough, I think mostly because it was an appointment that I had never really expected to get to. After moping in front of some trashy television and then long chats with family and friends though, I went to bed feeling positive and confident that this kiddo will just come whenever is the right time for him - which will mean its also the right time for us.
One other neat thing from yesterday: in the ultrasound (our first since we found out we're having a boy 21 weeks ago!), we could make out the contours of his face and it really looked like he has Dan's adorable broad nose. I think we're growing a cutie pie!

I'm not tired of hearing about your wait & I'm so glad LJ is healthy! I think you should just eat ring dings and ho ho's, maybe all that high-fructose corn syrup will make him grumpy and he'll want to jump out. Can't wait to meet him!!
