We had a great Fourth of July weekend with Mom, Tyler, Sarah, and Mariah, and my cousin Pam's family, her husband, Mike, and kiddos Zoe and Zan. Zan shared his pirate tattoos with all of us; my floating pirate head gripping a knife between his teeth was especially awesome. Zoe and I also played countless rounds of quick draw, which is a game where someone tells you what to draw and how many seconds you have to draw it in. My mother, in true motherly fashion, saved them all. Apparently you are never too old for your mother to want to keep and display your "artwork."
Mom and I had a truly a perfect Vineyard week, with gorgeous summer weather, no jellies in the water, and Vineyard Vodka Floats on the deck. Morgan and Ariel came on Friday to join Dan and me for the second weekend, and we had a lazy couple of days playing badminton, reading books, and acting out some Taboo/charades combo game that was a whole lot of fun. I think my favorite was Ariel, who blanked on just miming the typical Elvis sneer and instead silently performed a 5 second synopsis of his life, including the part where he ate too many peanut butter and banana sandwiches, got fat, shot heroin (totally false, right?), and died. What?? I love our friends.

This looks and sounds like a really good time. Why didn't we get a close up of your floating pirate head sporting the knife? Shucks! :)
OK now I'm really jealous. The fresh vegetables started it off but 10 days lazing around the Vineyard!!! What fun.
OK - what's a vineyard vodka float? Sounds like I need to try and make one next visit... The water was divine, wasn't it. Not a one jelly and I was in the water every day. I miss it already. Will you be my dad's downstairs people in September??? Would love to see you!
