the babb tab

Photobucket

Paul and Effie came to visit us in Albany last weekend, and we had an awesome time. The weather was beautiful (although not as amazing as the picture above suggests--Paul was freezing and Dan has an internal furnace that enables him to wear shorts and t-shirts in winter), and Effie--being from a forgotten capital city herself (Harrisburg)--asked if we could take a quick walk around the Albany Capitol. That's the Empire Plaza in the picture below, with the giant state buildings on the left and the "Egg" on the right.

We had breakfast at our favorite spot in the city--the Miss Albany Diner, which is apparently one of the few remaining pre-WWII box diners in the country. Dan and I go here almost every weekend that we're in town, and it's always fun to bring friends along.

Effie wanted to live on the edge, so after our walk around downtown Albany, we went for some afternoon beers and bowling at the Playdium (where a woman was shot a week or so ago). Oh Albany. We all bowled terribly, but had a lot of fun. And no one got shot. Hooray!

After bowling, we went for dinner, and since we had to wait at the bar a while for our table, we got to open the Babb tab. The bartender totally got a kick out of it. Sadly, the Kyle tab just doesn't have the same ring to it...
