We had SUCH a fun trip to Philadelphia to visit our friends Paul, Effie, and their 2 year-old son, Alex.
The kids had their first airplane flight, and it couldn't have gone better. Bennett had a blast riding up and down the escalator waiting for our flight to board, got a kick out of the take-off and landing, and watched a little video on our ipad while we were actually in the air. Lucy just slept peacefully on me, and I even got to close my eyes for a few minutes! The only tricky part was corralling Bennett through the big Philly airport, since we hadn't brought a stroller and didn't have any free hands to carry him. He kept playing this game where he would run for about 10 feet and then "fall" down on the floor... so it took a while to walk the long hallways.
We did so many fun family things during the four-day trip - afternoons at the playground, a visit to their amazing pool club, the awesome children's museum, the zoo, a walk around Penn's campus where hundreds of freshman were gathered... we even got to have a little barbeque party with Dan's friends from Penn, Chrissie, James, and their new baby Juliana, and my friends from Middlebury, Hamil and Zach!
Bennett and Alex played really well together, zooming trucks, doing puzzles, and having dance parties. At one point, they had a little tussle over a toy, and Bennett came over to me and said "what happened with me and Alex?" I was kind of shocked by his self-awareness, and we talked a bit about sharing and friends, blah, blah. Bennett talked about Paul, Effie, and Alex for days after we got back, and is STILL asking to go back to the museum, where he is convinced there was a monster truck.
(Bennett had a complete blast in the pool and was so brave in the water, despite what it looks like in this next picture!! It was after 7 and time for bed!)

Here's an old picture from the last time we got our boys together - they've grown so much!! We can't wait for the next visit!!!

You have no idea how happy these photos make me! I'm scared to show Alex because he may throw a fit when I explain you can't come back today. :) No, but seriously, we had such a good time with you guys. And alex also was talking about Bennett, Lucy, and Jesi for days afterwards. He sees baby pictures of himself and he thinks they're Lucy. :) We can't wait to come visit you guys again soon!
