two nights out in Brussels

I didn't take many pictures in Brussels since I spent most of the time in meetings. And looking back through my pictures, most are of me out with colleagues, which don't quite seem appropriate to post here... So here are the neutral photos from Brussels. Bear in mind that we did the majority of our sightseeing between midnight and 1 AM!!

Brussels was a charming small city. We ate both nights at wonderful restaurants filled with locals - one with exposed brick walls, mismatching chairs, and great bohemian character, and another specializing in seafood where I got a big bucket of moule frites (mussels and fries). The city orients on the Grand Place (last picture below), where we stopped for a few beers after dinner. The first bar we went to had inflated animal stomachs (like were used to hold water way back in the day) hanging from the ceiling and light fixtures and all of the servers in white frocks, and yet managed an authentic, un-touristy feel. At the second bar, we sat at a cozy table next to a fireplace. So the short story is that while I didn't have much time in Brussels, I think I still took the full Belgian beer tour...
