Less than 7 weeks left to go, and I have to say that as much as my heart already overflows with love for this little dude, the hardships of third trimester are starting to hit me... I feel like I'm beginning to waddle a bit, it's nearly impossible to tie my shoes, and this kiddo's previously adorable little kicks and jabs are now more like uncomfortable "lumping," as Dan calls it. The most frustrating part has been that my prenatal yoga no longer feels good, and walking has been kind of painful too because of this twinge I feel in my tailbone when I step on my left foot... so it's been a little hard to stay as active as I hoped I would be.
According to Baby Center, LJ is now over 17 inches long and 4 pounds, which feels like a pretty big baby to still be trying to flip around in my squished belly. The midwife said at my last appointment that he's turned vertical, leaning to the left, which is exciting - it means he's starting to get himself in position for birth!
I've started to let myself buy little things and get stuff together - we got some great hand-me-downs from Rowan and Heath, and we bought a few things too at a children's consignment sale a couple weeks ago, including an awesome ride-on metal firetruck that he won't be able to use for years... Dan and I also bought this ukulele for our little boy at a second-hand shop in Saratoga Springs - he can strum along with daddy!

left-leaning, left-foot tailbone pains...all this must mean that your little boy is left-handed. Also, just to add a lil linguistics to brighten your life, /u/ is the singular nominal prefix, and /kelele/ is the root noun. If you ever buy another one and want to say you have two, /makelele/ is the plural form (in some dialects). Although, not gonna lie, it's actually a different word in swahili than hawaiian, so you'd really be saying you have two "noises".
Wow Jessi! Big changes. Honor where you are on this beautiful journey (and doesn't that sound like a lot of hooey?) But seriously, go with the flow and be gentle to yourself. Can't wait to meet LJ?
Josh is going to Va. Tech's new med school starting in August. He'll be in the first class. And He's engaged. Change is in the air!
Love,
Alison
