april, and a picnic

It's been a busy April. An incomplete list of things I've done this month:

1. Went to Martha's Vineyard to spend two days with my mom. Walked almost 4 miles in gale force winds and pouring rain along State Beach. Bought ourselves a big box of Chilmark Chocolates and alternated eating them and knitting while vegging in front of movies. Went for fish and chips and a black magic (Guiness and Magic Hat #9 - so good!) at our favorite Vineyard pub, The Newes from America.

2. Went to Susan's baby shower! Made baby booties!

3. Spent four ridiculously busy days at my old office in Washington, DC, tottering around in heels and feeling like a real professional. Ate almost exclusively Thai food, per usual. Somehow got rugburn on my elbows and knees from my fancy hotel sheets (was I sleep-crawling??).

4. Spent endless hours re-teaching myself Stata (a statistical software package), working on my data for my MS thesis, and writing a final paper for another class.

5. Turned in my thesis! I am nearly a master of ecological economics, at least according to RPI.

6. Had a picnic with the Lockamys, Fitzgeralds, and Mariah at Thatcher State Park! Spring has totally sprung in Albany, which means it's time to get little Rhys over his fear of grass.

Adorably drooling baby! Look at those eyelashes!

Relaxing on the blankets - this position probably looks comfortable until you realize my toes are pointed in the same direction as my head...
