celebrating

I did our federal taxes yesterday, and after about 4 hours of truly baffling instructions, filling out the enormously complicated "Schedule D" as a result of $3.75 (THREE DOLLARS AND SEVENTY-FIVE FREAKING CENTS) in capital gains related to something mysteriously called "Section 1250," extensive number crunching, and one minor tantrum (after I realized I made a mistake on the first few lines of our 1040 and had to redo all the schedules, additional forms, etc. ARGH!!!), it all adds up to a big (for us) refund! I know, I know, that represents money we could have already had in the bank earning interest, blah blah blah, but who cares! A big check and a roadtrip are in our future - even a roadtrip where we could stay in a hotel for a night and bathe somewhere other than a river or a lake... hooray!
