My grandfather's father wrote and published memoirs, titled KFW: Reflections. I have a tattered copy, and I read them in 2006 and sent G-Daddy an email telling him how much I loved them and encouraging him to write his own. He emailed me back and said: "I am thrilled that someone in the family has READ and appreciated KFW:Reflections. I know I need to start writing. Betsy is hounding me. I just need to get through writer's block."
He never did make it through that writer's block, I guess, but instead he produced wonderful video memoirs several years back. My uncle has posted them online for all to share:
