We're starting to hit our groove with two kids (most days), and we had such a nice family weekend. Saturday morning Dan woke me up and said, "We're going to the zoo!" So we got up, got everyone dressed, and were in York having bagels and coffee at a little cafe by 8:30. We killed a little time before the York Animal Kingdom opened and visited the Cape Neddick lighthouse, and then it was off to the zoo! Bennett loved feeding the ducks, even though they were aggressive and nibbled his hand, and he's still talking about the mommy and daddy lion and going back to the zoo. Although when we asked him what his favorite animal at the zoo was, he said "elephant" (and there were no elephants...) Saturday night, Dan and I got to have a little date night to celebrate father's day and our seven year anniversary, thanks to Dan's dad and brother, who watched the kids (they both slept peacefully, apparently!).
And then on Father's Day, we walked to Mackworth Island near our house and had a beach picnic. Dan napped with Lucy on the beach, while Bennett and I splashed in the water and made sandcastles. Dan's weeks this month have been tough - he leaves the house by 6 AM and sometimes doesn't get home until 7 or 8 PM - so it was so nice to have an entire weekend to enjoy!

(Yes, he just licked the sandy shovel...)
