carter and emily got married!

Dan, Bennett, and I had a blast at the Terry-Evans wedding weekend in Taconic State Park, back near our old neck of the woods on the Massachusetts-New York border (actually, they were married in Massachusetts and then we hiked across to New York for the reception!). My father had the honor to marry these two below the gorgeous Bish Bash Falls. We couldn't hear a word, but it was very moving nonetheless.

The reception was under a tent by the river that runs from the falls, and as the sun set, the contra dancing began! Dad gave a wonderful toast and then recruited me, Dan, Mariah, and a few others to sing a sea shanty that he had written new lyrics for to celebrate the happy couple - this was fun until Dad lost his place and left me soloing in front of 100 guests (and apparently there is scary videographic evidence of this)! Oh well - I think I had already left my dignity behind when Carter's cousin Emma and I had an absurd amount of fun "grand galloping" during the contra dancing.

And amazingly, I actually took some pictures! I barely took any photos from our good friends Sonali and Seth and Eliza and Paul's weddings earlier this summer, but with two grandparents, two aunts, and an uncle present, I barely held Bennett at all and instead had photographic fun. Here are some highlights!
