not mourning the loss

**UPDATE: We just got a Dell using my company's member purchase program and didn't agonize over the decision... or really research it much at all. Anyway, it's super-fast and I'm loving it so far! Bennett likes it too.



Our family computer--Dan's laptop--died a couple of days ago, and I think we're both secretly celebrating. The laptop was like the Suburban SUV of laptops - unnecessarily huge and unwieldy for a normal household - and we're both happy to have a shiny, fast, new computer on the way. I was also pretty lucky in that I only lost one week's worth of pictures, which I hadn't yet backed up on our external hard drive, but had already erased from my camera. So I'm passing along the reminder: back up, back up, back up!!
