holiday fun

Dan and I have been having a lot of fun with our friends this holiday season. The first weekend in December we went to a tree farm with Ellen, Hamish, and Rowan - our annual tradition. We never find great trees, but we love that they just hand you a rusty old handsaw and send you out into the woods. When you wander back with your tree in hand, there's a bonfire to stand around with cups of hot cider - its perfect.

Hamish and Rowan

Rowan wearing the hat I knit him! (it has little sheep although they're hard to see in this picture)

The second weekend in December we had a big holiday party at our house. Morgan and Ariel and Laura and Brad came up from Boston, and Mariah drove in from Maine, which was really fun. Almost all of our friends from Albany came too, so Dan and I were catering staff and drink mixers for 35 people... which explains why we have no pictures! Here's one of Morgan strumming the guitar:

And this weekend, Ellen, Jen, and I braved the blizzard to drive out to Cate's apartment for cookie day!

Cate actually asked me if I wanted her to pose for the action shot! She knows me so well =)

Jen!

Ellen and I frost cookies - very concentrated...

Cate and I frosting cookies - notice the afternoon "baking beers" - my kind of baking day!!!
