med school camping at lake george

(Just playing a bit of catch-up before sharing pictures from our southwest vacation!)

In mid-August, Dan and I went camping with a bunch of med school friends at Lake George... here are a few random pictures to capture the weekend.

Dan and Carson in a bear hug... and maybe the best picture I've ever taken...

Dave and Julia, at the top of our hike

Law school Kyle and his snake friend

Steve is like a commercial for america

Carson convinced a couple of kids to lend him this water cannon to attack Dave

you know you're on a med school camping trip... when people start giving IUD insertion demonstrations...

I have to remember to check your blog when I'm looking for a good book to read! Love the reviews. I also enjoy Jhumpa Lahiri...there is another author that reminds me of her, but I can't remember her name. When it comes to me I'll let you know.

Super Soakers, IUDs, snakes...crazy med school students!

I remembered. Her name is Thrity Umrigar - she is also Indian. I really enjoyed "The Space Between Us." It's the story of the "friendship" between two women in India- the catch is they are separated by class. One is the employer, the other her maid...

Thanks Pam! I'm actually a bit behind, so I need to get my last few months worth of books up there!

Another Indian author I've loved is Arundhati Roy, who wrote "The God of Small Things." It's such a beautifully written book.
