home in maine

Dan and I spent the last two weeks of July in Maine, while Dan shadowed a pediatrician for his community medicine requirement. We had a really nice first weekend, celebrating Andrew's 14th birthday, golfing (my second time in life), and relaxing at beautiful Popham Beach.

The rest of our time in Maine was--at least for me--unfortunately less relaxing, since I found myself overwhelmed with work and schoolwork as I tried to finish stuff up before leaving for San Francisco and Caitlin and Jake's wedding. I was pretty disappointed that I didn't have more time to just enjoy being home - and disappointed by the weather too, which prevented us from spending the weekend at Acadia, like I wanted to - but as always, it was great to spend so much time with our families.

I did find a couple of hours one afternoon to walk around town with Mom; I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of my hometown and put them up here for people have not yet made it far enough north to enjoy midcoast Maine - that needs to change!
